CIAO

Ciao! My name is Sofia and I am a professional native Italian teacher.

I come from Abruzzo, a beautiful area in the center of Italy called the Green Region of Europe because of its breathtaking protected parks but I have been travelling and living abroad for many years. For the past 7 years I have been living in the UK.

I love studying languages and I speak fluently English and Spanish and I have a Postgraduate degree in Translation Studies.

My biggest passion since I was a child is studying my beautiful language. For this reason, I enrolled at the University of Roma3 and I now hold a Master degree in Italian language and literature.

During my university years I worked as an Italian teacher for political refugees in Rome and thanks to this experience my passion for teaching started.

After graduating I moved to Cyprus to have an internship at the prestigious Dante Alighieri School where I had the chance to work closely with the best Italian teachers and to perfect my teaching method.

Since then, more than a decade has gone and I have never stopped to work as a teacher both in schools and as a private tutor.

There are two main reasons why I love teaching:

It is rewarding. I really like to see my students grow in confidence when they become able to hold a conversation with a native speaker.

It is interesting. Every one of my students is different and has their own reason for learning Italian and I find this really refreshing and stimulating.
